This morning, Zoe informed me that her eye brows hurt.
.
And this morning, I was reminded... again.... that school uniforms do not- I repeat do not solve 'what to wear' issues. The one with plenty of clean uniform shorts doesn't like wearing shorts to school (all of a sudden) and the one that doesn't have clean shorts at the moment needs shorts because yesterday she was sooo hot.
.
School uniforms also don't solve name brand issues for a teenage girl. And they can tell which white uniform shirt has been bought from which store. Even without a logo.
.
All of that, unless you are a teenage boy. Then they could care less about any of that. But they cared less before school uniforms, so that doesn't count.
.
That's how it is in my house anyways.
.
And last night I slept for the first time in about a week, and nothing will remind you how glorious sleep is until it's been stolen from you.
.
Oh mercy, I love sleep.
.
And Home Goods. I love Home Goods. I don't know if it's a "cool" place to shop, most people blog about shopping at Anthropolgie, so maybe Home Goods isn't suppose to be cool (because it's affordable?). But I don't fall for that stuff. Do you have a Home Goods near you? It's the best. Every time I go, the shelves are filled with so many new things, it's like a new store each visit.
.
And I love my herbs that are growing. Mostly the basil. But don't tell that to the cilantro. Oh, but I do love the cilantro too. And I am just happy they are growing. For now. I have yet to be successful with growing my own herbs.
.
Speaking of edible things, I had a thought a few days ago while severely sleep deprived. I had this thought of.... if I were a big bad blogger, with a way huger following than 22 people, I would love to have this game where people sent me a picture of a food storage item they just HAD to have in their pantry. Something other than chocolate, that would have to be the rules- What is one thing you must have in your pantry, a years worth, if you wanted to survive hard times, besides chocolate. The one thing that will make the hard times not worth surviving without.
.
And then we could have a game, where everyone had to match the person with the food storage item. And maybe there would be a fun prize at the end. Like- maybe I could send them my cousin Irene's jar of apple flavored cucumbers. Yum! Or another gift certificate. Or something, to the first person to guesses correctly.
.
Would that be fun, or is it just me?
.
Let me know. Email me what one item you would HAVE to have in your pantry, if you wanna play and think this would be fun. You can send a picture or the name of the item and I can find the images online. Or maybe we don't need images.

it's just you
My eyebrows hurt too! I super love the idea of the food storage game count me in on it. I'm so far behind on blogging a game is a fun way to get back into the swing of things.
All our school uniforms (the whole school) all have to be bought at the same store - so we don't have the same problems. We just don't want to wear the uniforms cause it is almost the end of the school year - that is our current problem with school clothing.
The game sounds fun.
I do love the apple slices...so addicting! Other than that...Diet Coke!
Why does follower #12 sound just like AniC?
Kanoe- I can't wait to get an email from you about the 1 item you MUST have in your food storage. :)
Mel- I can always count on you. You should be my sister. Oh wait, you are, you and me are The Amen Sistas!! :) You gonna email me that 1 item you must have in your pantry too? :)
Queen- sh-sh-sh... you need to email it to me so people can later guess. So I hope you have another MUST HAVE other than apple slices and diet coke you can email me. :-D
what a weird game.
I think follower # 20 is AniC too!
Little stinkeroo!
I would say musubi or seaweed or rice or Code Red Mt. Dew. Do you think anyone could guess me?
So glad you got some sleep. And I've never heard of Anthropolgies but I'm thinking that must be the Anthro that Tamn is always talking about.
hmmmm...interesting idea.
sooooo glad we don't have uniforms, although I heard rumor that the 4-6 grade principal wants to start that.
it was so nice to get the middle school newsletter and have them remind the girls they can't wear tanks and spaghetti straps shirts and no short shorts and no showing belly's. the guy still can't be showing their boxers. And guess what? the kids comply
nah, i think i'll pass on this game. unless its a really totally awesome giveaway.
I love your "followers" and "stalker"!
My daughter HATED uniforms when she had to wear them (they stifled her individuality and she was only 9 at the time!)- my son LOVED it and still wears khaki pants everyday even though it's been 3 years since they've been at that school!
Val- well someone has to love them. I mean, HER. :)
I reckon we can't play the game if everyone keeps sharing what they MUST store in my comment box for everyone to read and not my email box where only I would read.
You guys are naught and follow directions as well as my ma did when we played 'Guess what's in this canning jar'.
But I love you anyways.:)
Awwwww shucks! Why did everyone ruin it? I really wanted to play!
How are you growing your herbs? I sooo have a black thumb, so any advice would be welcomed! Thanks again for letting us have some tadpoles; I'm glad we missed the snake drama though!!!
AniC is coming to town in a couple of weeks, when she gets here, I think I will turn her over my knee ad give her a whippin'!
My herbs started in a Chia herb garden in my window (cha cha cha CHIA!) :), and they are now in larger pots on the back porch. So far, so good! I am hopeful. :)
