Last school year, Silly Bandz were all the rage.

.
The rage was newsworthy. Schools were banning them. Celebrities were wearing them.
.
Huge, right? I mean, I don't have to tell you, they were so huge that you already know all this, right?
.
But I raised my kids to be above the latest fadz. They didn't understand the hype. "It's just a rubber band" they'd say. "Shaped like stuff" they'd add. "What's the big deal?" They went on. They were not impressed.
.
I was though. I was very imprezed that they had thoughts of their own. Just because someone says that rubber bands shaped like stuff it cool, doesn't mean they think so.
.
However the next school year, this school year, suddenly, without warning.... my daughters are into silly bandz.
.
And I went from proud momma to embarassed momma. Because as if following a fad isn't bad enough, but coming in late? That's worse!
.
(and I don't even think she's wearing them right!)
