You Guys are the Bestest

.
.
I am so glad that some of you are feelin' the music. .
.
Poor Melinda, she checks my blog while at work and her work computer does not have sound. Poor Mel can't jam to my 80's music while at work.
.
Let's all say "awwwwwwwwwwww" for Mel.
.
Ready?
.
Awwwwwwwwwwww....
.
My ma however purposely mutes my blog.
.
Let's all say, "shame on you, ma!"
.
Ready?
.
Sh... just kidding. Guess what? I have my blog muted as I type. Sometimes you just have to mute.
.
April loves Funky Music (YAY!) and Crash and I agree on music. (YAY again!)
.
And to my two sisters... the only two that visit my blog... thank you. I think we each influences each others taste in music, wouldn't you say?
.
But can you believe Tam ever liked Duran Duran? Gag. Let's talk trash about her and her Duran Duran fanatics since she'll never know, since she never visits my blog.
.
At least I had better taste in music and loved Culture Club! Hollaaaaa!
.
Duran Duran. Psssht!
.
Anyways, I am so grateful for all of you for accepting my music or being willing to mute. Because of you, my house is cleaner. Playing my play list has helped me with chores. Doing chores is no longer a chore!!! How about that??
.
Speaking of chores, do you know what I never did this summer? That I blogged about doing?
.
I never made my kids a chore chart.
.
Once upon a time my mom made a chore chart that lasted longer than any other chart or system that we ever had. When my children grew into chores, I adopted her chart idea.
.
And here it is- in all it's messy, blurry, cropped for your viewing pleasure, in the background in an old picture... so bare with me... glory-
.

.
It was great in it's day. It worked. Everyday I'd (as my mother did) mix up the chores and put in their pocket what they needed to do.
.
And I intended to do that for this summer.
.
Instead I did as I did last summer for chores. Any guesses on that that would be?
.
(No fancy charts involved...)
.
I said- Kids. Look around? Whatdoya see? You see some things that need some cleanin'? Well then, that's your chore. Now get to it!
.
It works.
.
They ask how many, it can range from 1-3. The big kids know they can't do the little kids chores and it works.
.
Now if you'll pardon me, I need to get back to groovin' and cleanin'.
.
I like to call it cloovin'. Or greavin'.
.
Whatever it's called, it's the opposite of chillaxin'.
.
(that's my sister Tam's favorite word EVER!)
.
Not that it does me any good to use her favorite word, since she never visits my blog.

i read an article in bhg magazine a lady wrote about her mother going to her favorite grocery store and groovin' to the music while she shopped. she called it shoppin' & boppin'. one cashier told her mother they charge extra for the "boppin" (because her dad told her to say that) i've been know to bop a little when i shop...especially if they play "wipeout"!

i have great hopes and dreams of being a chore chart mother. because i'm not a writer down-er and a list-er maker, when things are done that way they seem more official.
p.s. tam is going to be so annoyed with you for using the word "chillaxin". oh, how she hates that word with a passion. which i still dont understand.

p.p.s. my house is definitely not cleaner because of listening to your music. but i do dance more because of it.

Ditto on the "wipeout"

And how many times have my girls said, "mama, please, no" in the grocery store. ha. we live to embarrass our children. it's our revenge.

I forgot to tell you, but you have some seriously good music on your list. I'm especially proud that you have one from "Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou". My stake president tells everybody that the first time I ever saw that movie, I thought it was a family documentary. He makes fun of me all the time for being from SC. He's just jealous. Anyway, good music list girl. I'd like to think it would inspire ME to clean but, nah, no need to get carried away.

I get more done when I have music playing too...but it has to have some groove and move to it...I may even break into a dance while cleaning! (And if momma's cleaning...everyone's cleaning! I'm an EOC - equal opportunity cleaner!)

Now that I've moved and am alone in a quiet house I find that I play my playlist all the time. It comforts me. I never listened to it in Hawaii. How weird is that.

Maybe I'm lonely already.

But YAY for playlists.

And SHAME on your Ma.

And PShaw for Duran Duran.
