And Here We Are

The last day of school didn't go as planned. But what ever does go as planned? For me, not much.

But first let me share with you my two girls at their award ceremony.

I think my Zoe looks dainty and sweet and Naomi showing a split second peace sign?? Oy vey. I'm going to have to keep my eye on that one.

The last day of school, which was yesterday, was way more chaotic than expected. One thing that added to the chaos was an emergent dentist visit for Zoe. Just what all second graders want to spend their last day of school doing, right?

.
This video may be something only the mother can enjoy. I set my camera on the table at our "Woohooo! School's out!! Let's get ice cream!" celebration and they didn't know it was recording. Let me point out to you what I think you should look for. First off, Zoe is trying to tell Naomi about her dentist appointment. She's telling about how hard the xrays are for her, how having to hold that thing (what is that thing?) in her mouth makes her gag. She tells that once they put salt on her tongue to help with the gagging but because of her speech issues, Naomi doesn't hear - salt. So watch as she looks into the heavens for help in saying the word salt, and how she works harder to pronounce it correctly. (my heart!)

And secondly, yesterday was one of those days where the phone just would not stop ringing. It was killing me! It was already a hectic day and I am just not one to answer my phone while sitting in the dentists office or while in a public bathroom at Target or while enjoying an ice cream (chicken strips for Zoe) at DQ with my two little girls. And especially if it's a private number.

But notice how obnoxious my ring tone is (to add to the frustration). I just tensed up thinking about it. If it's not obnoxious I can't hear it though. But when Naomi counts back 3-2-1, it rings again, right on cue. She had it spot on.

(it starts quiet, while in my purse, but gets louder as I take it out)

p.s. the caller that was coming up 'private number'?

Turned out to be Gary! :)

We don't get you until June 4th which is my b-day and they are having "promotion" ceremonies so I have to be there instead of at Cafe Rio eating lunch! What happened to the good old days when you just moved up a grade? Oh, and I hate denists!

we only have little graduations for 6th grade and 12th. do they do this for every grade there?

and I'm glad it wasn't me being one of the people calling and interrupting you yesterday

ha ha. Cute. You should record when you don't know you're recording more often. Except you must have known you were recording because you were silent. hmmmmm. . .

Did you hear the guy in the background talking about brain freeze?

That was fun. Loved the peace sign.
