Boo, a fat plus-sized feline, moved into her home of 7 people several years ago. She claimed the great outdoors by night and the top bunk in one of the bedrooms by day. She loved the people in the home, even with her big booty large stature, she was able to deliver many gifts of field mice, birds, moles, squirrels and much to the family's heartache, a bunny. Some people One person even said she looked like the family she lived with. Boo had surgery prior to moving in with the new family and was unable to have kitten of her own, but she seemed just fine with that.
One day, after many pleadings the two smallest family members gave one of the largest family members, they stopped by a home with a 'FREE KITTENS' sign to see what they would find. They found one kitten left. One kitten that was the same color and had the same pattern as Boo. They named him Buddy.
Buddy arrived at his new home and sniffed things out, got comfortable, claimed the place as his.... all the while getting lots of love and attention from his new family. Buddy may have sensed another cat lived there, but it's doubtful he sensed the anger cat-witchy attitude he'd get when they were introduced. After all, she was female and set in her ways. Boo clearly didn't just want to scare Buddy off, but it appears she could have eaten the kitten for breakfast. She was MAD!! She was so mad that she stayed out way past her curfew, just enough to worry her people. She was so mad that when she came home, she let the people and the kitten know it with her hissing and attacking.
But as time went on, as Buddy kept trying to 'buddy-up' with her, Boo seemed to of, not in anyway want to take Buddy in as her own and be a motherly figure, not even an aunt-ly figure.... maybe not even as a friend. But probably it would be best described as a hunter wanting to show a silly baby kitten how to toughen up and prepare for the great outdoors. Boo finally accepted the invitation and started play fighting with Buddy, being gentle, but always having her limits and hissing to let him know when she was done. She even tolerated his pouncing her when she was eating or trying to nap. After some time Buddy could even take his cat nap near Boo, but not too near.
Ahhhhh, everyone was relieved to see it would all work out between these two kitties.
Don't cue the upbeat 'it-all-turns-out' music. Because all females in all shapes and sizes have a right to change their minds, and so does Boo. Boo has decided she won't be his mentor. Boo has decided he must learn his skills on his own because she is done. It appears as though Buddy could just not take a hiss for an answer and didn't know when to stop so now it can never start. Now Buddy can't be in the room without her growling her warning, constantly, over and over, because Boo is done. Buddy ruined it.
Moral of the story is, if you take in another kitty without asking the first kitty, you do so at your own
