Have you noticed that there is an art to the hug, and some have the talent of hugging and some do not? When I think of good huggers I think of my husband, my dad and my youngest daughter Zoe who knows just where to rest her chin and her face and kind of just melts in your arms and fits. She is a great hugger. My dad is a great bear hugger. And my husband, well we've hugged enough over the years you know we got it down.

Then there are the bad huggers like my 15 year old son Nolan, who kinda goes in for the hug and then puts his shoulder and head in there??? It's like he's offering his head to be hugged. My 17 year old hugs like he's been outside working and is dirty and doesn't want to get you dirty. He barely leans in and barely touches you. I am working with them on that.

Then there are all the in between huggers that when you think of who gives good hugs you don't even think of them as good or bad.

I am kind of concerned about the type of hugger I am. Of course I hug my husband different than I hug others. I am afraid when I hug non-family members that I could come across as choking them. My arm tends to wrap around the back of their necks real tight. Now that I am aware of that, I am going to have to work on it.
