Cheese Soup

Mmmmmmmmmm, soup.

I would love to talk about how it is soup weather, but here in Georgia we are still dealing with 80 degree temperatures. Either way, Halloween night I had to make something more traditional and so I made soup, even though my daughters went trick or treating wearing sandals.

The great news is that I lost this recipe and found it! And this soup is outstanding! It is easy to make and it is so very delicious. And you are not going to believe the secret ingredient.

Cheez Whiz!

Cheese Soup
8 cubes Chicken Bouillon
3 quarts of water
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 stalks chopped celery
3 grated carrots
3 diced potatoes
2 sticks of butter
1 cup of flour
1 12 oz. jar of Cheese Whiz
Add bouillon to water, add onion, celery, carrots, and potatoes. Simmer about 20 minutes, until vegetables are done. Make a paste from the butter and flour, add to the simmering pot and simmer another 20 minutes. Add Cheez Whiz and stir until well blended.
I have used dehydrated vegetables out of my food storage and it's worked out great. I haven't tried the powdered butter/margarine though, so I am not sure if this could be completely used as a food storage soup, but almost.
