Hot Chocolate and a Book

We had tropical storm Ida traipse through town yesterday and she made for some great Hot Chocolate weather. (and poufy hair)
.
The day seemed to turn into a sort of a 7th Heaven episode I saw once that was all about cookies and milk. As in, need to get someone to talk? To spill the beans? To get stuff off their chest? Then give them some cookies and milk and you'll get an ear full.
.
That's what I did yesterday. In the Ida weather. With hot chocolate.
.
After school snack involved Hot Chocolate and some filling momma in on the day. Naomi needed to talk. And it worked. She did.
.
You need this recipe, by the way.
.
Coconut Tres Leches Hot Chocolate
3 cups fat free milk
1 14oz. can unsweetened coconut milk
14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk
2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Whipped cream (optional)
chocolate shavings (optional) for garnishing
-In medium saucepan combine the tres milks. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat.
- Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Serve in mugs topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Makes 5 (1 cup) servings.
.
.
Oh..... and about the book. I'll tell you about the book tomorrow. But it did go very well with the hot chocolate.

What a clever idea...fill their bellies and then have them spill their guts..LOL.

I will definitely be enjoying that recipe...I might even try it on my 18 year old to have her spill her guts to me, she's been way too quiet lately. Thanks for sharing LoW.
