Strange Happenings

.

.This past weekend we went to South Carolina and my ears were filled with wise and inspired men and women telling me things I know are true, and I needed to hear. Those words went straight to my heart.

. This past weekend was also filled with some strange happenings.
.
For starters, I caught my 18 year old, 15 year old and 11 year old gathered around while Rae read to them a book about a 1st grader, a book written for 1st graders.
.

.Then, my second youngest baby turned 11. I don't know about you, but for me, when my babies turn 11, it's all down hill from there.

..But check out this beautiful unedible cake Zoe made for her.

Zoe is a wizard with paper. Did you see the cake topper? It's a pokemon card. Are my kids the only kids into pokemon nowadays? I am thinking they are.

.

So Naomi opened presents and then I brought out the cake for us to sing for her (the real cake). Zoe was so nice to record the event. I couldn't bring myself to share the whole video, but here are some pictures from the video.

.

.

Yes, it's true. I dropped her cake.

.

Check out this part of Zoe's recording-

.

But all was not lost, the cake landed right side up, and one candle was still burning for her to finish blowing out to get her wish.

.

.On the way home yesterday evening, Naomi and Zoe were having a strange conversation.

.I heard Zoe ask, "Naomi, would you rather go to school in unmatching clothes, or run 18 laps in PE?"

.Naomi chose the laps.

.Later she said, "Naomi, would you rather have no friends or have someone spit on you?"

Naomi said, "Who is spitting on me?"

Zoe named a boy that was in class with Naomi last year, a boy Naomi wasn't very fond of.

Then Naomi asked, "Did he do it on purpose or by accident?"

.

To top the strange happenings weekend off, we came home to our cat, thinking she's a bunny.
